Most people welcome an open door in life. When we see opportunities present themselves, we walk through that door without hesitation. Sometimes, however, we do not see any open doors. It doesn't mean that they are not there, but the path seems a bit foggy and not very clear.
What can we do to navigate through the fog? One thing we can do is pray, asking for guidance on which direction to go. Another thing we can do is stop. We are sometimes moving too quickly. Many times, when we stop moving, we can gain a better perspective of what is going on around us. And of course, we need to ask for help from others. Asking a parent, friend, or minister can be of great benefit.
An open door could be around the corner, but sometimes we do need some help. Don't be afraid to ask. We tend to think that we have to do it all on our own. We think that we have to prove ourselves in some way. However, what we often get in return for going it alone is a prolonged journey towards that goal or opportunity. We can't be afraid to seek counsel!
"The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man is he who listens to counsel." Proverbs 12:15
Ask for help with that journey you are currently on. Ask your spouse, a friend, or a pastor. Don't reject counsel that can get you to a place where the path is clear. You can also hire a professional Life Coach. Life Coaches are trained to help you get through the fog, to see more clearly. While Sanctuary Retreats offers Life Coaching, there are many options out there, and with the medium of the internet, you can easily get yourself down the road where you want to be.
"How blessed is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding. For its profit is better than the profit of silver, and its gain than fine gold. She is more precious than jewels; and nothing you desire compares with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and happy are all who hold her fast. The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding He established the heavens."
Proverbs 3: 13-19
